Utility Maintenance Mechanic
About the role
The City of Dunn is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Utility Maintenance Mechanic. This individual is engaged in the construction, maintenance, and/or repair of water and sewer lines. Work involves making water and sewer taps; installing hydrants, meters, and valves; operating a sewer truck to unclog sewer stoppages, CCTV inspection of sewer lines and making repairs to the water and sewer system.

Requirements
- Possess or capable of obtaining a NC CDL (Class A)
- Subject to working in both indoor and outdoor environments, to extreme hot and cold weather, and to various hazards such as loud noises, electrical current, odors, chemicals, fumes, gases, etc.
- Participate on an on-call rotation and be subject to being called back for emergencies outside of normal business hours

Pay
The starting salary range is $18.56 per hour.
Schedule
Work is performed under regular supervision and evaluated through observation and inspection for adherence to instructions and standard trade and safety practices.
