About the role
The Utility Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling property damage, personal injury, incident and claims including workers' compensation.
Responsibilities
- Receive, investigate, evaluate, and settle property damage and personal injury claims in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergencies involving property damages and/or personal injuries.
- Respond to claimant complaints, coordinate cleanup and other remedial efforts and provide a resolution for senior management.
- Initiate and maintain contact with injured employees, monitor status of claims and manage return to work processes.
- Review claims by third parties and worker’s compensation claims for subrogation action.
- Ensure claim files are properly documented in the claims’ software system and ensure staff follows established processes and procedures.
- Review monthly report data on claims and worker’s compensation including loss reports to analyze trends, identify root causes and mitigate risk exposure.
- Research and develop educational programs and presentations on workers’ compensation and general liability.
- Analyze, evaluate effectiveness of and recommend changes to procedures and programs.
- Avoidance of conflicts of interest and compliance with laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business, Public Administration, Risk Management, or a related field and four (4) years of experience investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling, property damage, personal injury and/or workers' compensation claims.
- Texas Class “C” Driver’s License or equivalent from another state.
- Texas Property and Casualty Adjuster License, or All-line or Multi-lines License by time of appointment.
Qualifications
- Have had your diploma, transcripts, degree or other required documents translated and evaluated by an agency of NACES.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.

$70,815.26 - $88,519.08 Annually
