About the role

The UX / CX Researcher will be based in Vienna, VA, USA, and is expected to work onsite. The interview process will involve both video and in-person interviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Design Research, Cognitive Science, or another related social science discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Experience conducting research within federal government, public sector, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to work with cross-functional teams, facilitate research workshops, present findings to stakeholders, and support product strategy through data-driven, user-centered insights.

Skills

  • Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in Human-Centered Design (HCD) and qualitative user research, including planning and conducting user interviews, contextual inquiry, persona development, customer journey mapping, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and synthesizing qualitative research findings into actionable design recommendations.
  • Proven ability to establish evidence-to-feature traceability, ensuring user insights directly inform product requirements, design decisions, and feature prioritization.
  • Experience using modern research and collaboration tools such as TheyDo, Otter.ai, and other UX research, journey mapping, and documentation platforms.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills with the ability to translate complex user needs into intuitive, user-centered solutions.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), design thinking methodologies, Agile environments, and user-centered product development practices is a plus.
