About the Role

The consultant will provide User Experience (UX) design support and subject matter expertise in UX and UI methodologies and best practices for accessible web, mobile, and web applications. The consultant must undertake duties as a UX Principal Designer using user-centered design methodology that focuses on the needs and motivation of customers and involves user feedback. The UX Principal Designer will work collaboratively with UX Designers, Business Analysts, Developers, Solution Architects, Testers, and program Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop user-centered experiences for all user groups as it pertains to web-based products supported by the UX team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide UX design support and subject matter expertise in UX and UI methodologies and best practices for accessible web, mobile, and web applications.
  • Ensure that all work performed complies with Information Technology Services Branch (ITSB) policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Submit a written weekly status report to the contract manager.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to staff before the end of the engagement.
  • Conduct user research studies.
  • Create UX analysis documents for feedback from stakeholders.
  • Review analytics and current workflows.
  • Reorganize and re-prioritize information, creating logical groupings.
  • Create UX wireframes and user interface flows to align with the users' perspective and for responsive design.
  • Map out new workflows.
  • Maintain WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.
  • Create functional prototypes of applications for usability testing.
  • Conduct presentations of findings and recommendations to all stakeholders.
  • Create version history relevant to releases in Figma.
  • Finalize design assets in Figma.
  • Provide quality assurance and browser testing during system testing.
  • Provide feedback and any necessary revisions.
  • Transfer UX designs and insights across products and services to fellow UX Designers.
