About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled User Experience (UX) Designer to join our team supporting federal mission systems in a high-assurance environment. This full-time, day-shift position is based in Fort Meade, Maryland, and requires an individual with extensive experience in UX design for complex, enterprise-level applications. The successful candidate will lead design efforts throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with engineers, subject-matter experts, and stakeholders to create intuitive, effective, and accessible user interfaces for mission-critical devices and systems. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong background in interaction design, visualization, and usability principles, capable of balancing technical constraints with user needs to deliver optimal solutions.

Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years of professional experience in User Experience (UX) Design
  • Five (5) years of recent experience supporting or leading project lifecycle design efforts within the past ten (10) years
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university (or four (4) additional years of relevant UX design experience on comparable projects may be substituted for a degree)
  • Demonstrated experience designing for complex systems or enterprise applications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph (mandatory)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and development of user experiences for mission-critical devices, tools, and systems
  • Establish and enforce interaction standards, usability conventions, and visual design principles to ensure consistency and quality
  • Collaborate with engineers, subject-matter experts, and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine user requirements
  • Create wireframes, screen mockups, and prototypes to visualize design concepts and system functionalities
  • Participate in design trade-off discussions to balance usability, technical constraints, and mission objectives
  • Analyze tools, platforms, and technologies to enhance user interaction and overall system effectiveness
  • Apply visualization and screen design expertise to deliver intuitive, accessible, and effective interfaces
  • Support customer understanding of emerging interaction techniques and innovative design approaches
