Used Car Buyer

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter with a passion for customer service, product knowledge, and selling to join our team as an Entry Level Used Car Buyer at our Ontario Hyundai store. This role involves coordinating the purchase and resale of vehicles at fair market value, working with internal teams to acquire vehicles from various sources, and appraising vehicles for dealership customers.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, field management, and remarketing to understand needs, recommend proper disposal channels, and price vehicles.
• Collaborate with internal departments to execute deals and purchase vehicles, and coordinate appraisals.
• Interface with current used vehicle owners from multiple resources to purchase their vehicles.
• Approach, greet, and appraise dealership customers’ vehicles, offering to purchase them.
• Understand equity and values, and explain depreciation to customers.
• Work with the maintenance department to determine if repairs are completed internally or outsourced.
• Manage the remarketing of purchased vehicles, including listing for sale, pricing, marketing, and setting discounts.
• Develop and run reports, analyzing the results of the purchase and sell process.
• Identify and manage process improvement projects to enhance the purchase/sell process and profitability.
• Provide expert advice on proper disposal, pricing, and discounts for vehicles.
• Resolve complaints from end-users if issues arise after resale, determining if the company covers repair expenses.
• Complete other projects assigned by management as needed.

Qualifications

• This is an entry-level position; 2 years’ experience in used vehicle pricing is a plus.
• Exceptional negotiation skills are a must.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and enthusiastic individual with a positive outlook.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Bilingual is a plus.
