Responsibilities
- Sources used vehicle inventory through auctions, trade-ins, private sellers, and online marketplaces
- Evaluates vehicles for condition, market value, and resale potential
- Negotiates purchase prices to ensure profitability and alignment with dealership goals
- Maintains strong relationships with auction representatives, wholesalers, and vendors
- Monitors market trends, pricing guides, and competitor inventory
- Works closely with Sales Managers to identify inventory needs and gaps
- Manages vehicle acquisition process from purchase through delivery
- Ensures all purchased vehicles meet company standards and compliance requirements
- Tracks and reports on inventory performance, turn rates, and gross profit
Qualifications
- Previous automotive buying, sales, or appraisal experience preferred
- Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of used vehicle market trends, pricing tools, and valuation methods
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple purchases simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
