About the Role

Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, has an opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Gibbon, NE plant. This role involves predictive, preventive, and repair maintenance to ensure production equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform predictive maintenance, including vibration analysis to predict equipment failure.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, such as lubrication and inspections at specified intervals.
• Execute repair maintenance after equipment failure.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and lock-out-tag-out procedures.
• Maintain logs and required paperwork.
• Maintain, disassemble, reassemble, repair, test, and inspect production equipment.
• Perform other related duties as needed to meet organizational requirements.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to work in varied temperatures (warm, hot, humid, cold, wet) and slippery surfaces at different heights, around moving equipment, while using personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ability to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Willingness to work extended hours Monday through Saturday, including daily overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
• Must successfully complete training in:
  • Safety
  • Safe Quality Food (SQF)
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Food defense

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior maintenance experience in a USDA-inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
• Prior production experience.
• Work history in the last 12 months.
