USA: Two postdoc positions, applied math

Two Postdoctoral Fellowships in Applied Mathematics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), beginning Fall 2026. Both positions are for one year with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.

Requirements

• Completed Ph.D. in applied mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related field by the start date.

Postdoc Position #1 – Quantum Computing, Optimization, Operations Research & Numerical Linear Algebra

• Research interests in Quantum Computing, Optimization, Operations Research, and Numerical Linear Algebra.
• Expertise in at least two of the following areas: quantum computing and information, optimization, numerical linear algebra, and operations research.

• Research interests in numerical methods for the optimal control of partial differential equations.
