About the Role

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Provides feedback through store tours and communication (Tour-to-Teach), collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, sets clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives (e.g., Store of the Community, community outreach programs), resolving customer needs, complaints, and issues, and developing action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and expense control, monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing contributions, promoting a belonging mindset, and recruiting qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, communicating goals, measuring progress, addressing improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans and utilizing the Open Door Policy.
  • Foster a culture of respect by building high-performing teams, embracing diversity in people and ideas, creating an inclusive workplace, and providing opportunities for associates to thrive.
  • Work collaboratively, build trusting relationships, and communicate with impact to motivate and influence others.
  • Attract and retain talent by empowering and developing associates and recognizing their contributions.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms: Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition: May require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Regional Pay Zone (RPZ), Complex Structure, and state pay differentials may apply where applicable.
