(USA) Service Shop Repair Technician - Sutherland, VA (2nd Shift)
Position Summary
Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
What you'll do
- Performs minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements following company guidelines on all Walmart equipment, such as trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles, by creating and processing work orders, performing minor diagnostics with technical and electronic equipment, assessing maintenance, repair, and replacement needs, identifying needed parts and possible solutions, consulting with others, and selecting the best possible solution, conducting repairs and replacements, such as repair drivetrain components, repairing and replacing communication equipment and onboard technology, tractor and minor trailer diagnostics of HVAC systems, following company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines and requirements, communicating with individuals or groups, such as customers, suppliers, and associates, verbally and in writing.
- Correctly identifies and performs warrantable repairs by entering accurate information on the condition, cause, and correction into the maintenance system, completing warranty tags as needed, and ensuring parts are retained according to warranty guidelines and creating and processing warranty claims to ensure proper credit is received according to company guidelines.

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.45 - $34.95* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
- A valid state-issued driver's license.
- Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
- Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Office ASE Certification - Certification, Transportation - Driver's License Class F - Certification
