This role combines deep analytical expertise with strong business judgment to identify growth opportunities, optimize Walmart Marketplace economics, and influence strategic decisions across one of Walmart's fastest-growing businesses.
About the team
The Seller Fees & Incentives team drives profitable Marketplace growth by designing competitive fee structures and scalable incentive programs that create value for both sellers and Walmart. We use rigorous, data-driven analysis to optimize investment decisions, maximize ROI, and influence seller behavior through attracting high-value sellers, expanding strategic assortment, improving the customer value proposition, and accelerating adoption of new Marketplace capabilities. Our team partners closely with seller-facing teams, Product, Data Science, Finance, and internal business partners to shape high-impact Marketplace strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own complex analytics shaping seller fees and incentive investments across Walmart's global Marketplace.
- Analyze large datasets using SQL to identify trends, uncover insights, and solve high-priority business problems.
- Build financial models and business cases for Marketplace fee changes and high-value incentive programs.
- Design experiments and measurement frameworks to quantify business impact, optimize ROI and investment decisions.
- Partner with Data Science to develop and validate measurement and recommendation models.
- Translate complex analyses into executive-ready recommendations.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to build scalable global fees and incentive capabilities.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through execution.
- Coach associates on analytical thinking and structured problem solving.
Requirements
- Exceptional analytical skills with demonstrated experience using SQL and large datasets to solve complex business problems.
- Strong business intuition with the ability to connect analytical findings to global Marketplace strategy and financial outcomes.
- Experience building financial models, evaluating investment opportunities, and measuring ROI.
- Ability to independently identify opportunities, frame ambiguous problems, and drive analyses with limited direction.
- Experience partnering with Data Science to develop, validate, and operationalize predictive or optimization models.
- Ability to synthesize complex analyses into compelling executive-level recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing cross-functional leaders.
- A natural curiosity to explore data, challenge assumptions, proactively identify opportunities, and independently drive business improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and 4 years' experience in marketing research, data analytics, consulting, or related field OR 6 years' experience in marketing research, data analytics, consulting, or related field.
- Preferred: Customer Analytics in Retail Operations, Leading a cross-functional team, Supervisory experience, or a Master's in Business Administration.

Pay
- Bentonville, Arkansas: $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 annual salary.
- San Bruno, California: $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 annual salary.
- Hoboken, New Jersey: $108,000.00 - $216,000.00 annual salary.
- Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
