Assist in maintaining food safety and sanitation standards within a manufacturing facility, working closely with the Sanitation Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Clean In Place (CIP) systems, and Pest Control programs to ensure compliance.
- Assist with internal audits, pathogen swabbing, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Support food safety issue resolution as they arise.
- Conduct and document assigned sanitation activities to maintain facility and equipment standards.
- Maintain and receive sanitation supplies, tools, and utensils.
- Perform routine maintenance, preventive cleaning, and special cause cleaning activities.
- Maintain facilities in accordance with government food safety and quality standards (e.g., CHS and Good Manufacturing Practices) through validation testing and product evaluations.
- Provide input to the Sanitation Manager and Chemical Contractor to optimize chemical options for plant sanitation.
- Collaborate with the FSQA team to ensure compliance with the Safe Quality Food Code Food Safety manual.
- Follow Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), food safety codes, and other applicable laws and requirements.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including using personal protective equipment, operating machinery safely, and reporting hazards or accidents.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas to prevent accidents and contribute to continuous improvement of safety protocols.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, utilizing the Open Door Policy as needed.
- Complete work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and business partners, and adapting to feedback and change.

Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Safe Quality Food (SQF), or in a manufacturing/production environment.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $21.90 - $27.40. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may apply in specific circumstances, ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
