Position Summary

Maintains and ensures compliance with sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP), Clean In Place (CIP) systems, and Pest Control programs under the guidance of the Sanitation Manager.

What you'll do...

  • Works closely with the Sanitation Manager to ensure compliance with SSOP, CIP systems, and Pest Control programs.
  • Assists with internal audits, pathogen swabbing root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assists in addressing food safety issues as they arise.
  • Conducts and documents assigned sanitation activities to maintain proper facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintains and receives sanitation supplies, tools, and utensils.
  • Conducts routine maintenance, preventive cleaning activities, and special cause cleaning activities.
  • Ensures facilities comply with government food safety and quality standards through validation testing and product evaluations.
  • Provides input to the Sanitation Manager and Chemical Contractor for best chemical options for sanitation.
  • Collaborates with the FSQA team to ensure compliance with the Safe Quality Food Code Food Safety manual.
  • Fulfills responsibilities under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), food safety codes, and other applicable laws and requirements.
  • Adheres to safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment, operating machinery and equipment safely, reporting hazards, near misses, injuries, or accidents, and participating in safety trainings and drills.
  • Maintains cleanliness in work areas to prevent accidents and contributes to the continuous improvement of safety protocols.
  • Maintains awareness of surroundings to ensure personal and others' safety.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, utilizing the Open Door Policy.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by following policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Safe Quality Food (SQF).
  • Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
