About the role

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives (e.g., Store of the Community, community outreach programs), resolving customer needs, complaints, and issues, and developing action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, promoting a belonging mindset, and recruiting qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
  • Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting business initiatives, communicating goals, measuring progress, identifying improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous learning.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans and utilizing the Open Door Policy.
  • Fosters a high-performing, inclusive workplace by embracing differences in people, cultures, and ideas, creating opportunities for associates to thrive, and building strong, trusting relationships.
  • Attracts and retains talent by empowering and developing associates and recognizing contributions.
  • Upholds integrity by maintaining high ethical standards, modeling Walmart’s values, holding oneself and others accountable, and supporting regenerative company goals.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.

For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments, Complex Structure adjustments, and state pay differentials where applicable.
