About the Role

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Conducts store tours to provide feedback (Tour-to-Teach), communicates and collaborates with associates at all levels regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating business objectives effectively.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following and teaching the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives such as Store of the Community and community outreach programs. Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved, develops action plans to correct deficiencies, and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Monitors merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing recognition. Promotes a belonging mindset in the workplace and recruits qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.

Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, communicating goals, measuring progress, identifying improvement opportunities, and promoting continuous learning.

Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Implements action plans, supports the Open Door Policy, and provides guidance on applying these in business processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 2 years of college; OR
    • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
    • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required.
  • For facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Regional Pay Zone (RPZ), Complex Structure, and state pay differentials may apply where applicable.
