Leads and develops teams by coaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Collaborates across all levels of the organization on store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads change efforts, sets clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating objectives effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives, such as store-of-the-community and outreach programs.
  • Ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved; develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  • Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  • Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Supervise and develop hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, and providing recognition.
  • Promote a belonging mindset in the workplace and recruit qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with stakeholders, supporting business initiatives, and measuring progress.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and integrity by attracting and retaining talent, empowering associates, and recognizing contributions.
  • Act with integrity by maintaining high ethical standards, holding oneself and others accountable, and supporting Walmart’s regenerative goals.
  • Serve customers and members by prioritizing their needs, adapting to shopping behaviors, and applying EDLP (Every Day Low Price) and EDLC (Every Day Low Cost) models.
  • Strive for excellence by embracing curiosity, taking calculated risks, encouraging learning from mistakes, and driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms: Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition: May require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

Annual salary range: $71,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes:

  • Annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
  • Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments based on location.
  • Complex Structure adjustments for external challenges.
  • State Pay Differential: Washington State: $10,000 annually for Coach roles to meet legislative requirements.
