About the role

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations, and guides implementation of business solutions while communicating business objectives to teams.

Responsibilities

  • Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives (e.g., Store of the Community and community outreach programs).
  • Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved; develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership for a high-quality customer experience.
  • Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses to align with sales.
  • Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing recognition to promote a belonging mindset.
  • Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, identifying goals, measuring progress, and addressing improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and utilizing the Open Door Policy.
  • Fosters a culture of respect by building high-performing teams, embracing diversity in people and ideas, and creating opportunities for associates to thrive.
  • Works collaboratively, builds trusting relationships, and communicates with impact to motivate and influence.
  • Attracts and retains talent, empowers and develops associates, and recognizes contributions and accomplishments.
  • Maintains high standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance; supports Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company by making a positive impact for associates, customers, and communities.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.

For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.

Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

PTO/PPTO amounts depend on job classification and length of employment and meet or exceed paid sick leave legal requirements where applicable.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional pay differentials may apply based on location (Regional Pay Zone), external challenges (Complex Structure), or state legislative requirements (State Pay Differential).
