About the role
The (USA) Captain – Medium Range leads safe and efficient flight operations by adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations and company standard operating procedures. This role requires comprehensive flight planning, risk assessment, and coordination with multiple aviation teams to ensure operational excellence.
What you'll do
- Promote transparent communication and build positive working relationships across Walmart Aviation teams to achieve operational goals.
- Plan and execute flight operations in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company standard operating procedures.
- Analyze and apply flight information including weather, fuel, routes, and maintenance to ensure safe and efficient travel.
- Manage documentation and regulatory requirements for international and domestic flights.
- Supervise and develop crew members, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Identify and implement business improvements to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Support company policies, ethics, and safety culture while fostering continuous learning and adaptability.
What you'll bring
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License with multi-engine land rating and English proficiency endorsement
- Valid US passport or a Valid Passport with a US Permanent Resident Card
- FAA First-Class Medical Certificate
- 2,000 hours total flight hours, including: 1,000 hours turbine time, 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time
- Type rating in jet aircraft
- Proven expertise in flight planning, including weather analysis, fuel calculations, and route optimization
- Strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and international aviation standards
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and sound aeronautical decision-making
- Experience developing and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure operational safety and efficiency
- Effective communication skills to foster collaboration across aviation teams and stakeholders
- Ability to manage confidential documentation and regulatory requirements for international flights
- Commitment to promoting a safety culture and continuous professional development in aviation practices
Preferred Skills
- 10+ years of corporate and/or military aviation experience
- 3,500 hours Total Time (TT)
- 1,000 hours of Jet Time
- 1,000 hours PIC
- One or more jet type ratings (preferably in aircraft currently operated)
Minimum Qualifications
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License with multi-engine land ratings and English proficiency endorsement
- Valid passport
- FAA first class medical certificate
- 2,000 hours total flight hours, including: 1,000 hours turbine time, 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time
- Type rating in jet aircraft
