As a Tailor/Seamstress (Production Associate) at US Patriot/Galls you will be hands-on altering and providing exceptional customer service to our soldiers and airmen. You will ensure all measurements and fittings are done properly, accurately, and efficiently – so that they can wear that uniform proudly. At US Patriot, we are P.R.O.U.D. to Serve, and it all starts on our Production and Value-Added Service Team.

Responsibilities

• Read and accurately identify the customer’s needs per the Work Instruction Document
• Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations, with the ability to problem-solve individual sizing issues
• Perform uniform sewing, alterations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency, including:
  • Taking up the stride
  • Lengthening/shortening tails on shirts
  • Tapering shirts
  • Adjusting waists
  • Hemming trousers
  • Mending tears
  • Replacing zippers
  • Applying patches
  • Applying name strips
  • Applying striping
  • Applying patches
• Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Previous experience in alterations preferred (GALLS will train)
• Well-versed in industrial sewing machines (preferred, GALLS will train)
• Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English
• Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused
• Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation
