What You Will Do
- Read and accurately identify customer needs according to the Work Instruction Document.
- Take measurements and mark garments for alterations, using problem-solving skills to address individual sizing issues.
- Perform uniform sewing, alterations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency, including:
- Adjusting shirt lengths and tails, tapering shirts, and modifying waists
- Hemming trousers, mending tears, and replacing zippers
- Applying patches, name strips, and striping
- Operate industrial sewing machinery in a safe and proper manner.
- Ensure high-quality, accurate work while meeting daily production and performance expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in alterations, or equivalent trade/technical training or coursework.
- Proficient with commercial and industrial sewing equipment.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions in English.
- Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused; you notice mistakes and correct them.
- Strong visual acuity and hand dexterity, with the ability to see fine details and perform precise sewing tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods and perform tasks requiring bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
