What You Will Do
- Oversight of projects to achieve project success in areas of Scope, Schedule, Budget, and realized Benefits.
- Identification of project options, development of business cases, and securing required approvals.
- Leadership of requirements gathering and planning process, working closely with key stakeholders.
- Definition of appropriate project scope aligned to corporate strategies.
- Identification and management of critical paths, considering upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Coordination with other key initiatives and resolution of project conflicts.
- Development of project plans, key milestone schedules, and cost/benefit analysis.
- Management of project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking actuals.
- Monitoring and managing the project schedule and its dependencies.
- Facilitation of PMO level reviews of project status and health.
- Management and mitigation of issues and risks, and communication to senior leadership.
- Application of change management processes and tools to support adoption of required changes.
- Identification and management of proposed changes to projects, working with business stakeholders and project managers.
- Collaboration with IT and business partners to identify and schedule all work for end-to-end deployment.
- Ensuring project milestones are accomplished and overall committed timelines are met.
- Communication of updates on major milestones and keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field required.
- 4-6 years of project management experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Experience with either Agile or waterfall project management techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium-sized project teams.
- Technical competency in IT/Systems, combined with business acumen to understand and translate between business and technical requirements.
- Innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to direct multiple projects in parallel in a highly matrix, fast-paced, multi-site organization experiencing rapid growth.
- Ability to map related tasks into a plan and communicate interdependencies with other projects and programs.
- Ability to track and coordinate resources and tasks across multiple organizations and/or projects.
- Most work is remote with some travel likely to Operating Companies and US LBM locations along with business-related meetings & conferences.
- Ability to lead and work in remote teams across time zones and geographies.
- May have to work off-hours if there are critical problems requiring IT intervention.
- May be weekend work if projects or assignments necessitate activity when workers are out of the office.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification from PMI preferred.
- Agile certification preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification from IASSC preferred.
- Change Management certification preferred.
