About the role

The U.S. Account Leader (AL) will lead a diverse, energized, and focused team aligned around ExxonMobil’s current organization, existing business engagements, and the pursuit of high-value growth opportunities. This role is based in the greater Houston area proximate to the client’s global headquarters and reports to the Account Executive. The AL will develop and implement the account strategy in the U.S., drive profitable organic growth, and lead the account team in growing Arcadis’ share of client business in established services. This role requires frequent client engagement with an emphasis on building and maintaining strong relationships through regular in-person meetings at the client’s office.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Arcadis’ primary relationship manager for ExxonMobil, delivering an exceptional client experience while expanding and diversifying Arcadis’ service offerings.
  • Build and strengthen relationships across ExxonMobil’s enterprise, creating trusted partnerships and positioning Arcadis as a valued strategic advisor.
  • Develop a deep understanding of ExxonMobil’s business objectives, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with teams across Arcadis to identify opportunities, develop differentiated solutions, and execute growth and pursuit strategies aligned with the client’s priorities.
  • Establish and monitor key account goals and performance metrics to demonstrate sustainable value to ExxonMobil.
  • Maintain an accurate and forward-looking pipeline of opportunities, ensuring visibility into growth prospects and supporting strategic account planning.
  • Ensure successful delivery of projects, completed profitably, with exceptional quality, and in accordance with agreed schedules and budgets.
  • Proactively address challenges, implement best practices, and continuously improve delivery performance.
  • Foster a positive and high-performing account team culture built on growth, accountability, collaboration, and health and safety.
  • Mentor and support project teams, helping develop talent and enabling both individual and team success.
  • Ensure continuity within the account leadership team, maintaining the right mix of talent, expertise, and institutional knowledge.
  • Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with Arcadis’ internal processes, governance requirements, and reporting obligations.
  • Develop a client account strategy aligned with the client's business objectives and sector strategy through annual and multi-year planning.
  • Communicate the account strategy and updates to the account team.
  • Engage in disciplined Go/No-Go assessments of opportunities, qualifying leads aligned with business and risk objectives.
  • Collaborate with Services and Operations teams to develop differentiated service, value propositions, and commercial models.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage employees; coach and mentor to achieve high performance, growth, and personal development.

Requirements

  • A degree in a relevant industry discipline, with direct experience supporting ExxonMobil through applicable services and solutions.
  • Experience as an account leader or program manager in an engineering consultancy or professional services firm.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in client development and service delivery, including at least 5 years in a country or regional account leadership role.
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, challenge the status quo, and drive innovation and growth of key accounts.
  • Based in the greater Houston area with a willingness to frequently travel to ExxonMobil’s offices and project sites.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong advocacy for health & safety practices, visibly championing these principles in the workplace.
  • Proficiency in embracing digital tools and standardized approaches to enhance and streamline service delivery.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $148,800 - $223,300. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
