Urologist Oncologist
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat disorders and cancers of the urinary tract and male reproductive system, including prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular malignancies.
- Perform advanced procedures such as radical prostatectomy, nephrectomy, and cystectomy, often utilizing minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques to enhance precision and recovery.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging and lab results related to endocrine disorders.
- Develop and manage pre- and post-operative care plans.
- Work closely with oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and primary care providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case reviews.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Ensure adherence to surgical safety protocols and institutional policies.
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, risks, and recovery expectations.
- Stay current with advancements in urological oncology through continuing education.
- Mentor residents, fellows, or junior staff as applicable.
- Participate in clinical trials or research initiatives aimed at improving surgical outcomes and techniques (if applicable).
- Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Board certified/eligible in Urology at time of employment.
- Successful completion of a residency program.
- Successful completion of fellowship accredited by the Society of Urologic Oncology.
- Current licensure in Washington State by the time of employment.
- DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
