This position is located at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) in Madison, Wisconsin. The Department of Urology seeks a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist to provide state-of-the-art patient care, advance the field of urology, and train the next generation of physicians. This is an onsite role at a designated campus work location.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years thereafter.

Applicants will be considered for the titles of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, with the final title determined by experience and qualifications.

About the Department

The Urology Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health has provided advanced urologic care since the 1920s. The department focuses on cutting-edge surgical care for adult and pediatric urologic patients while conducting innovative research and training future academic urologists. Subspecialties include Urologic Oncology, Endourology, Men’s Health, Pediatric Urology, Women’s Pelvic Wellness, Andrology/Infertility, and Urinary Reconstruction.

Responsibilities

  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
  • Collaborate in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Requirements

  • Completion of Urology Residency.
  • Completion of Urologic Oncology Fellowship by start date.
  • Strong history of academic accomplishment.
  • Must have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Urology through the American Board of Urology.
  • Eligibility for enrollment as a UW Health billing provider and all necessary hospital privileges.
  • MD or DO, or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • For appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the tenure track, candidates must meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the UW Divisional Committee guidelines for promotion.
