About the role

The Division of Urology at the University of Utah Health seeks to hire a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist. This faculty member will serve as an Assistant, Associate, or full Professor and be responsible for high-volume clinical activity within the realm of urologic oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a high-volume clinical provider in the clinics and operating rooms at Huntsman Cancer Institute, and potentially at other University of Utah facilities such as SJHC, FHC, and University Hospital.
  • Reside for 3-4.5 days per week with 0.5-2.0 days allocated for academic/administrative time.
  • Develop a strong regional and national referral practice in urologic oncology.
  • Teach residents and urologic oncology fellows on state-of-the-art care, practice, and patient-centered behavior through didactic lectures and one-on-one teaching in both the clinic and operating room settings.
  • Educate staff members on best practices for the problems seen within the clinic.
  • Focus on clinical research activities including outcomes, health services research, or other clinically related quality improvement and other endeavors.
  • Work with residents and fellows to increase their participation in research and ensure the urologic oncology section publishes and reports important data that advances the field.

Requirements

Applicants should have completed a fellowship in urologic oncology and hold an MD or DO degree. They must be board certified or board eligible in urology and have a strong commitment to academic medicine.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of clinical excellence, academic achievement, and a passion for research in urologic oncology. Experience in teaching and mentoring residents and fellows is highly desirable.

Skills

Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to patient-centered care are essential. Proficiency in clinical research methods and a dedication to advancing the field of urologic oncology are also required.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
