Urgent Care Unit Secretary
About the role
Crystal Run Urgent Care, part of Optum, is seeking an Urgent Care Unit Secretary to join their team. The role supports the urgent care center's vision and mission by providing excellent customer service, adhering to Lean processes, and assisting with patient care coordination.
Responsibilities
- Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messages
- Schedule appointments for new or established patients
- Enter and scan patient's demographic and insurance information into Electronic Health Record
- Document information acquired and services implemented in the patient health record
- Afford assistance to physician and clinical staff by coordinating follow-up care for patients; schedules referral appointments for patients and obtains authorization for diagnostic testing
- Perform clerical duties such as copying, faxing and filing
- Manage patient flow
- Comfortable working in a high pace environment
- Provide effective communication to patient/family team members and other health care professionals as evidenced by documentation, case conferences, communication notes, and evaluations
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- One plus year of computer proficiency experience
- One plus years of customer service or healthcare related experience
- Ability to work flexible hours to include both Saturday and Sunday
- Ability to travel to cover other offices if needed

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16 to $29 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.

Schedule
This role consists of a 38-hour work week, rotating 10-hour shifts between the hours of 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Rotating holidays and weekends. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire.
