About the role

We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners with urgent care, emergency room, or high-acuity family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat patients with acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections
  • Take patients’ medical histories
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays
  • Make diagnoses and prescribe medications
  • Treat minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
  • Record progress notes for follow-up patients
  • Educate and counsel patients
  • Order and/or carry out therapy with patients
  • Administer vaccinations and refer patients to additional care when necessary
  • Recognize serious conditions and direct patients to the emergency room for advanced care
  • Perform applicable office procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
  • Provide preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays
  • Float within 30 miles of home center
  • Work assigned shifts of eight (8) or twelve (12) hours

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
  • Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
  • One (1) year of full-time experience in an Emergency Medicine setting (or two years of Family Medicine experience)
  • National Certification and active state medical licensure
  • Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting
  • Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
  • Strong communication, customer service, and listening skills

Schedule

Eight (8) or twelve (12) hour shifts assigned by an authorized representative.
