Our health system encompasses two hospital locations in Robbinsdale and Maple Grove, as well as a network of 23 clinics, including 13 primary clinics, 6 specialty clinics, 4 urgent care/urgency centers, and emergency care offerings covering five counties.

  • Robbinsdale Hospital, established in 1954, is a 385-bed facility recognized as the top Level 1 Trauma center for 25 years, as well as a Level II pediatric trauma center.
  • Maple Grove Hospital, established in 2009, is a 134-bed facility recognized as a top hospital in the state for Women and Children Care, with a Level III NICU and the largest Family Birth Center in the state (5,000 deliveries per year and over 60,000 babies delivered).

Both hospitals have been named to the 2022 Fortune/Merative 100 Top Hospitals® list and the 2023 Women’s Choice Award Best Hospitals list.

About This Position

The Urgency Center Technician is responsible for providing supportive, comforting, and high-quality care under the direction of the care team to patients and families. Actively and consistently demonstrates the mission, vision, values, and guiding principles of Clinic Services and Blaze Health. Helps manage the flow of patients throughout Clinic Services.

Requirements

Education

  • Successful completion of an EMT program.

Experience

  • 1+ years’ experience as a clinical technician in a clinic or hospital setting; emergency department-specific experience desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information (both oral and written) clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Skill in basic computer operations.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the patient; take initiative, be self-motivated, and a proactive, independent, accountable, dependable performer.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a positive manner.
  • Awareness of, responsiveness to, and consideration for the needs, feelings, and capabilities of others.
  • Ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically think and utilize established standing protocols.

Licensure/Certification

  • BLS certification.
  • National or State EMT certification.

Pay

Salary Range: B11 ($19.76 - $29.64), based on experience.

Sign-On Bonus: Eligible for up to $3,000. Bonus is prorated based on FTE.

Shift Differential: Compensation may include shift differential pay depending on the position and shift worked.

Schedule

  • Work Group: Non Contract.
  • Hours per two-week pay period: 72.
  • Shift: Day/Evening, 12 hours.
  • Weekend Requirement: Weekends by Department Rotation.
  • Call Requirement: None.
  • Remote or On-site: On-site.
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.

Employment Sponsorship: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
