Location: UCHealth Urgent Care Steamboat, Steamboat Springs, CO
Department: YVMC UC OP
Work Schedule: PRN, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Flex
Pay: $22.54 - $33.81 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Captures flow of patients in the department to optimize throughput;
  
• Keeps patients apprised of delays;
  
• Observes patients and notifies the provider and/or RN immediately if patient appears in distress;
  
• Prepares patients to see the provider;
  
• Aids prior to, during, and following examination;
  
• Inserts Foley catheters, performs complex splinting, and performs venipuncture for the purpose of drawing blood or inserting a saline lock;
  
• Maintains exam and treatment rooms and other areas;
  
• Cleans equipment following established guidelines;
  
• Ensures that established standard supply levels are maintained; orders supplies as directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED;
  
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date;
  
• One of the following credentials: CMA; RMA; State licensure as EMT, EMT-I, or Paramedic; completion of military medic course (no renewal required); Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN);
  
• IV proficiency per department guidelines within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision;
  
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
