Holy Child seeks an experienced, dynamic, and innovative Upper School math teacher to teach math courses in grades 9-12 and provide support in our Math Center. Ideal candidates have experience teaching a variety of Upper School math courses, are dedicated educators who value interdisciplinary teaching and creative learning experiences; possess strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills; ideally have a minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience; and are highly motivated and passionate about making a difference in students’ lives. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Teach 4-5 sections of Upper School math Provide small group support in our Math Center for students enrolled in Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II/TrigonometryProvide math support to individual students and small groups as neededCollaborate with the math department and STEM colleagues to design/map curriculum, create interdisciplinary opportunities for learning, share resources, and evaluate effective methods of teaching; participate in regular meetings with the Department ChairWork with the Learning Center to support students with learning differencesServe as an Upper School Advisor to a group of 8-12 studentsShow a commitment to community and belonging workCommunicate professionally and compassionately with every member of the community: students, families, and colleagues alikeAttend and participate in parent conferences and school eventsCommunicate regularly and effectively with Division Heads and the advisors about student progressParticipate in grade-level and school-wide meetings as neededEngage with new technologies and methodologies for teaching and assessing Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in STEM required; Master’s degree in Education or STEM field preferredExperience teaching similar math content is required1-3 years Upper School math teaching experience preferredPassionate and knowledgeable about progressive education, problem-based teaching and learning and differentiationStrong planning and organizational skillsA good sense of humor and collegial spirit Coupled with these credentials, the candidate will have a deep understanding of differentiated instruction, a flexible and team-oriented approach, exceptional organizational and written communication skills with attention to detail, and superior interpersonal skills.
