Unlicensed Engineer

Responsibilities

• Standing routine watches and record pertinent data
• Proper execution of start-up and shut-down procedures
• Perform system troubleshooting and repairs
• Complete weekly/monthly preventative maintenance
• Safely maintain vessel systems to applicable regulations
• Participate in mandated drills and emergency procedures as directed
• General duties such as cleaning, painting, and maintaining the engine space
• Transferring Water, Sewage, and Fuel
• Proper communication with peers
• Pass pre-employment drug test
• Valid Transportation Worker Identity Credential (TWIC) or willing and able to obtain TWIC

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined
• Willing to learn

Qualifications

• Flexible work rotations available (4 days on/3days off or 8 days on/6 days off)
• Vessels equipped with full living quarters including galley and common area
• Vessels range from 1,400-9,600 horsepower
• Encourages license upgrades
