University Admissions Counselor – Traditional Ground Campus –Tucson, AZ - Grand Canyon University

About the role
We are looking for a motivated University Admissions Counselor to oversee the Tucson, AZ territory in this unique remote (work from home in Phoenix, AZ) opportunity. Starting salary is $58,656 per year with a tenure-based compensation plan that allows you to increase your earning potential upon the completion of each year-long recruitment cycle.
Must live in or near Tucson, AZ and be willing to travel in assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Host and implement event/activity plans for your territory that build awareness of our academic programs and campus community and drive inquiry generation.
- Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through a variety of mediums (in-person, phone, email, text, or Zoom).
- Champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
- Engage with community college students, faculty, and staff in local community colleges, maintaining a full schedule that includes fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events, and hosting campus visits.
- Serve as the face of Grand Canyon University in your territory, promoting our transformation and supporting prospective students and families through the admissions process.
- Use critical thinking skills to guide students on the right path toward a successful campus experience while working independently and meeting ambitious targets.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree.
- No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report. If in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments.
- Outstanding time management and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks while traveling.
- Clear communication and engaging presentation skills, with the ability to explain concepts effectively in person, in writing, and on the phone. Strong listening skills are essential.
- Self-motivation and drive to succeed, with a willingness to take on new challenges and go above and beyond expectations.
- High emotional intelligence, with the ability to demonstrate empathy while coaching a diverse range of students and families, as well as developing relationships with community college staff.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule, including evening and/or weekend availability. Some travel to Phoenix (1-3 times per month) is expected.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, as part of a remote workforce.

- Attended Grand Canyon University on campus and can share your experience with prospective students as an Alumni.
- Relevant industry-related professional experience.
- Experience working with CRM tools.
