About the role

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is a rapidly growing educational service company that provides educational, operational, and technological support services to the post‑secondary education sector, working closely with Grand Canyon University to benefit students, families, and the local inner‑city community. The University Admissions Counselor oversees the Southern California territory in a remote (work‑from‑home in Phoenix, AZ) position, focusing on serving prospective students, hosting events, and promoting GCU student success.

Responsibilities

• Host and implement event/activity plans for the territory to build awareness of academic programs and campus community and drive inquiry generation.
• Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families via in‑person, phone, email, text, or Zoom.
• Champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
• Connect with community college students, faculty, and staff; engage major stakeholders in the territory.
• Maintain a full schedule that includes fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events, and hosting campus visits.
• Use out‑of‑the‑box critical thinking skills to support prospective students and families through the admissions process, guiding them toward a successful campus experience.

Requirements

• Must live in or near Phoenix, AZ.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree.
• Have no delinquent or default status on federal student loans (if in a rehabilitation program, credit report must reflect current payments).
