About the role

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a University Admissions Counselor to oversee the Denver, CO territory in a remote (work from home in Denver, CO) capacity. This role involves helping high school students make decisions about their education and community at Grand Canyon University's campus in Phoenix, AZ, guiding them from application through their first few weeks on campus.

What you'll do

  • Host and implement event/activity plans for your territory to build awareness of academic programs and campus community, driving inquiry generation
  • Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through in-person meetings, phone, email, text, and Zoom
  • Connect with community college students, faculty, and staff in local community colleges
  • Engage all major stakeholders in your territory while maintaining a full schedule including fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events, and hosting campus visits
  • Serve as the face of Grand Canyon University in your territory
  • Support prospective students and families through the admissions process, guiding them toward a successful campus experience
  • Work independently from home with ambitious targets, using critical thinking skills to support prospective students

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • No delinquent or defaulted federal student loans (verified in credit report; if in rehabilitation, must be current on payments)
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills
  • Clear communication and engaging presentation skills, with confidence in communicating in person, in writing, and on the phone
  • Well-developed listening skills
  • Self-motivation and drive to succeed, with ability to volunteer for new challenges and go above expectations
  • High emotional intelligence with ability to coach diverse students and families and demonstrate empathy
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, flexible schedule, and willingness to travel extensively within territory
  • Clean driving record and ability to use personal vehicle for travel
  • Availability for evening and/or weekend events
  • Ability to travel to Phoenix 1-3 times per month (if residing outside Phoenix)
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred qualifications

  • Attended Grand Canyon University on campus (Alumni able to share experience with prospective students)
  • Relevant industry-related professional experience
  • Experience working with CRM tools

Pay

Starting salary is $58,656 per year with a tenure-based compensation plan that allows you to increase your earning potential upon completion of each year-long recruitment cycle.
