University Admissions Counselor – Traditional Ground Campus – Grand Canyon University

About the role

Join us at Grand Canyon Education as a University Admissions Counselor to oversee the Boise, ID territory in a remote (work from home) opportunity. You’ll play an integral role in helping Grand Canyon University students find their purpose from application through their first few weeks on campus, while being involved in your local community.

Responsibilities

• Host and implement event/activity plans for your territory to build awareness of academic programs and drive inquiry generation.
• Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through in-person meetings, phone calls, email, text, or Zoom.
• Champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
• Engage with high school students, teachers, and staff in local school districts, as well as youth groups in your territory.
• Maintain a full schedule of fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events, and hosting campus visits.
• Serve as the face of Grand Canyon University in your territory, promoting its transformation and values.
• Use critical thinking skills to guide prospective students and families through the admissions process.
• Work independently in a remote role with ambitious targets to support students toward a successful campus experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• No delinquent or default status on a federal student loan (verified via credit report). If in a rehabilitation program, must be current on payments.
• Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks while traveling.
• Clear communication and engaging presentation skills, comfortable interacting in person, in writing, and on the phone.
• Well-developed listening skills and confidence engaging diverse audiences.
• Self-motivation and drive to succeed, with a willingness to take on new challenges proactively.
• High emotional intelligence, with the ability to demonstrate empathy when coaching students and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to travel extensively in your territory and to Phoenix 1-3 times per month (if residing outside Phoenix).
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Attended Grand Canyon University on campus (Alumni experience is a bonus).
• Relevant industry-related professional experience.
• Experience working with CRM tools.
