About the role
The Universal Worker/CNA position at Eventide Linden Senior Living is part-time, working the PM shift from 2:00p-10:30p, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
Responsibilities
- Assists tenants with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assists tenants with ambulation and/or therapeutic exercises.
- Observes and/or assists with medications that may have been ordinarily self-administered. May give oral and trans-dermal medications, patches, eye drops, topical ointments, and suppositories under the direction of the nurse.
- Reads and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight.
- Provides adequate nutrition and fluid intake through meal preparation.
- Performs blood sugar testing and documents results.
- Provides tenants with emotional and cognitive support.
- Socializes with tenants. Listens, converses, and participates in appropriate activities – reading mail, writing letters, etc.
- Gives guidance, redirection, and re-orientation to tenants as needed.
- Develops a rapport with tenants and families to understand their needs and interests.
- Documents in tenant records as instructed and promptly.
- Participates in the development, implementation, and review of the tenant’s plan of care.
- Recognizes and reports significant changes in the tenant’s health, behavior, and/or general appearance to the nurse.
- Complies with infection control policies and procedures.
- Recognizes emergencies and carries out emergency procedures according to policy.
- Promptly reports any occurrences of physical or mental abuse or potential for vulnerable adult reports to a supervisor.
- Reviews communication notes at the start of each shift to stay informed of changes that may have occurred.
- Cleans apartments, service areas, and common areas.
- Sorts, washes, dries, and folds personal clothing and linens.
- Restocks supplies as needed.
- Assists with serving meals in the dining room.
- Performs pet care per policy.
Requirements
To qualify, candidates must have a current Minnesota CNA license or be able to obtain one upon hire.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a compassionate approach to caring for seniors are essential.

Pay
The estimated pay range for Universal Worker/CNA is $18-$20.16 per hour based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are also available.
