Universal Worker/CNA - Part-Time PM Shift (4PM TO 9PM)

About the role

The Universal Worker position at Eventide Lake Country Manor is a part-time position (4PM TO 9PM), 25 hours per Pay Period, with every other weekend and holiday rotation. This position is located at our Assisted Living facility.

Responsibilities

• Assists tenants with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assists tenants with ambulation and/or therapeutic exercises.
• Observes and/or assists with medications that may have been ordinarily self-administered. May give oral and trans-dermal medications, patches, eye drops, topical ointments, and suppositories under the direction of the nurse.
• Reads and records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight.
• Provides adequate nutrition and fluid intake through meal preparation.
• Performs blood sugar testing and documents results.
• Provides tenants with emotional and cognitive support. Socializes with tenants. Listens, converses, and participates in appropriate activities – reading mail, writing letters, etc.
• Gives guidance, redirection, and re-orientation to tenants as needed.
• Develops a rapport with tenants and families to understand their needs and interests. Documents in tenant records as instructed and promptly.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and review of the tenant’s plan of care. Recognizes and reports significant changes in the tenant’s health, behavior, and/or general appearance to the nurse.
• Complies with infection control policies and procedures. Recognizes emergencies and carries out emergency procedures according to policy. Reports any occurrences of physical or mental abuse or potential for vulnerable adult reports to a supervisor.
• Reviews communication notes at the start of each shift to stay informed of changes that may have occurred.
• Cleans apartments, service areas, and common areas.
• Sorts, washes, dries, and folds personal clothing and linens. Restocks supplies as needed.
• Assists with serving meals in the dining room.
• Performs pet care per policy.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a current ND CNA license or be able to obtain one upon hire.
