About the role

Responsible for all duties in relation to safely providing for the resident’s care and well-being. Requires a responsible demeanor to build confidence in residents.

Responsibilities

• Assists with all care needs including toileting, ambulation, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, escorting, and transferring.
• Understands and reports changes in resident alert status and condition.
• Aware of resident’s service plan and reports changes to relevant parties.
• Assists in dining room duties, including meal setup, serving, and cleaning.
• Supports activities and escorts residents to appointments.
• Notifies staff of changes in resident’s condition and maintains accurate vital signs and weights.
• Handles laundry, trash collection, and equipment checks.
• Reports and addresses safety issues and assists in care needs.
• Communicates with residents via call lights and maintains communication devices.
• Maintains cleanliness of resident’s apartment and reports maintenance issues.
• Completes incident reports and covers for receptionist as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of some high school or equivalent courses.
• Active and unexpired CPR certification.
• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent, Certified Nursing Assistant, familiarity with elderly population, and previous elder care experience.
