About the Role
As a Universal Banker III (UB III) at Community State Bank, you will conduct transactions, open and maintain personal and business accounts, resolve account issues, and handle consumer lending duties. You will pursue cross-selling opportunities and provide exceptional service by understanding customer needs and communicating available solutions. This role is key to delivering efficient and effective banking experiences.
Responsibilities
- Transactional/Customer Assistance:
- Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cash advances, and cashier’s checks.
- Provide accurate information and troubleshoot customer issues.
- Assist with safe deposit boxes, address changes, and travel notifications.
- Troubleshoot debit/credit cards, online banking, and general account questions.
- Sell gift and travel cards.
- Execute wire transfers.
- Balance and service branch ATMs and vaults.
- Close and open depository accounts (checking, savings, money market, CODs, HSAs, IRAs, etc.).
- Take loan applications, quote rates/terms, and perform loan closings.
- Branch Responsibilities:
- Follow proper branch opening and closing procedures.
- Balance and service ATMs and cash vaults.
- Assist customers with safe deposit boxes.
- Provide exceptional customer service across all communication channels.
- Open and maintain personal deposit accounts (including IRAs and HSAs).
- Support Assistant and Branch Managers as needed.
- Cross-Selling:
- Identify customer cues for products/services they may not currently use.
- Work toward branch goals to achieve growth potential.
- Account Acquisition:
- Open personal and business accounts for new and existing customers.
- Perform customer follow-ups.
- Update customer account maintenance/changes.
- Execute the loan application process and perform loan closings.
- Other Activities:
- Demonstrate compliance with bank regulations and stay updated on changes.
- Follow all bank policies, procedures, and compliance regulations.
- Complete annual required or job-specific training.
- Promote CSB as a local relationship-building financial institution with a focus on volunteerism and teamwork.
- Support co-workers with positivity and solutions.
- Undergo training to enhance financial knowledge and job skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Some banking or sales experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to recognize suspicious behavior and escalate when necessary.
- Eagerness to learn in a dynamic industry.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to lift boxes of coin.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
