About the role
The Universal Banker III plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while providing a wide range of banking solutions to clients. This position manages customer relationships, understands their financial needs, and offers tailored bank products and services to enhance their banking experience.
Responsibilities
- Meet with customers and non-customers to open all types of savings, checking, and certificate of deposit accounts, based on discovery of the customer needs.
- Excellence in product knowledge, sales, and service skills is essential. Must proactively discover needs and cross-sell the products and services that will appropriately meet those financial needs.
- Opens, closes, and renews all types of savings, certificate of deposit and checking products.
- Provides exceptional service in handling clients in person or on the telephone.
- Engage with customers to assess their banking needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Process various banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan applications.
- Open and maintain customer accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly, providing a high level of service.
- Collaborate with branch staff to achieve branch goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an operation specialist in bank operations required.
- Retail sales and service experience, including cash handling is a plus.
- Working knowledge of computers, related business programs and online banking systems.
- Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
- Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, core banking process systems, e-mail and on-line banking programs.
- Good analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Be able to handle large amounts of cash.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
