About the role

The Universal Banker’s responsibilities vary day-to-day based on branch needs. This role involves processing financial transactions, greeting customers, performing needs assessments, opening accounts, cross-selling, tele-consulting, and servicing accounts. The Universal Banker may also resolve account issues, promote products and services, manage cash drawers, and meet sales expectations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a teller window to process banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, cash exchanges, and cashier’s checks.
• Assist at the platform to open accounts and resolve customer service issues.
• Deliver a consistent, extraordinary client experience by executing customer service behaviors.
• Research and resolve transaction errors, escalating to management when needed.
• Engage customers in conversation to identify needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Refer customers to the platform for further assistance when working at the teller window.
• Adhere to the bank’s compliance and operational policies and procedures.
• Complete necessary paperwork (e.g., CTRs, SARs) accurately and promptly.
• Assist with end-of-day branch tasks, including ATM and vault reconciliation.
• Participate in internal and external branch events, as well as local community events.
• Work a flexible hourly schedule, including potential travel to other branches.
• Maintain a professional image and provide access to safe deposit boxes.
• Open and/or close the branch with management.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of bank teller and/or platform experience preferred.
