Univ- General Practice Dental Residency Faculty Position -Department of Biomedical Community Health Sciences

About the role

The James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine (JBECDM) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a full-time dental faculty member for a new Rural General Practice Residency Program (GPR-P) in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Serving as a supervising/attending faculty for the GPR-P residents
• Aiding the Program Director with administration duties, including curriculum development and implementation, evaluation of program content, oversight of resident and faculty at off-site rotations, maintenance of residents' education records, and application, interview, recruitment, and selection of residents
• Maintaining compliance with programmatic requirements as outlined by the Commission on Dental Accreditation

Requirements

• Completed DMD, DDS, or equivalent degree and eligibility for licensure in South Carolina
• Completion of General Practice Residency (GPR) Program or Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program (preferred but not required)

Qualifications

• Experience and maturity in mentoring post-graduate education and clinical care in a community health center environment

Skills

• Ability to perform job functions in various positions (upright, seated, walking, etc.)
• Good finger dexterity and ability to perform repetitive motions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. unassisted
• Good vision and hearing acuity
