Unit Secretary
Job Summary and Qualifications
The Unit Secretary position organizes and manages the department's activities. You will oversee office supply inventory, room utilization, and audio/visual equipment utilization. You will provide clerical support for the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Director of Risk Management & Safety. You will coordinate special projects as assigned. You will interact with physicians, hospital directors, other hospital executives, as well as employees, patients, and families.
Position Requirements
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of Unit Secretary or medical terminology course preferred
- Unit Secretary experience preferred
- Experience with computers and medical terminology is required
- Previous customer service and secretarial experience preferred
- Advanced computer skills are preferred
- Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of PC based computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and/or similar systems preferred
- General knowledge of legal procedures/practices
- Spelling, grammar, verbal communication, and written composition skills
