Unit Secretary
Position Summary
A Unit Secretary at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles provides administrative and clerical support to the nursing unit, helping ensure smooth daily operations. In this role, they manage patient records, answer phones, coordinate communication between staff and departments, and assist with admissions, discharges, and scheduling. They may also handle documentation, order entry, and maintain organized, up-to-date charts. The Unit Secretary plays a key role in supporting the clinical team by ensuring accurate information flow and helping maintain an efficient, organized environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And/or Experience
- Education: High School degree or GED
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- License: Driver’s license
- Experience: One year experience performing nursing, receptionist, or clerical duties in a hospital setting
- Experience: CNA or Mental health technician 2 years
