About the role

The Unit Manager at CareOne in Wall, NJ oversees all aspects of a clinical unit, ensuring proper staffing, resident care, and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure required staffing levels are met for each shift.
  • Attend and participate in resident "At Risk" meetings, clinical review meetings, PPS meetings, QA and A meetings, and other committees as requested.
  • Monitor and review resident medical records and documentation.
  • Identify and address staff educational needs and collaborate with the Facility Educator.
  • Communicate with the appropriate department managers and participate in grievance resolutions.
  • Assist with performance evaluations and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Greet new admissions and assist with the admission process.
  • Maintain accurate medication passes and treatment schedules.
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary and report problem areas to the Director of Nursing.
  • Develop and implement care plans and participate in annual surveys.
  • Assist Social Services with obtaining and documenting Advance Directives/Code Status.
  • Participate in fire safety and disaster preparedness drills.
  • Ensure infection control procedures are followed.
  • Operate nursing equipment safely.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Assessment/Care Plan Coordinator to develop care plans.
  • Report and assist with investigations of resident abuse.
  • Ensure nursing staff follows policies and procedures, including appropriate dress code.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain licensure requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or graduate of an approved RN program.
  • Active license as an RN in assigned state(s) of employment.
  • Two years of LTC experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Acute Care experience preferred.

Qualifications

Must be a registered nurse (RN) and hold an active license in the state(s) of employment.

Skills

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
