About the role
The Unit Manager/Registered Nurse (RN) oversees the entire operation of a nursing unit within a long-term care facility. This position offers a generous sign-on bonus of $6,000, payable over two years.
Responsibilities
- Hiring, disciplining, and evaluating employees
- Planning and facilitating meetings and committees to address resident care issues
- Managing the unit with the goal of providing the highest quality of care
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for nursing staff
- Contacting physicians and ensuring timely and appropriate interventions
- Maintaining staffing patterns and adjusting personnel as needed
- Monitoring clinical operations and resident conditions
- Assisting in the orientation of new personnel and guiding staff
- Participating in the facility's Quality Assurance program
- Performing other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a degree preferred
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN), if required by state law
- Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable
- Three years of nursing experience, including one year in a long-term care setting
Qualifications
- Skilled in motivating staff and leading teams
- Proficient in assessing work and communicating effectively with residents and colleagues
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations for accreditation and certification
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work with a diverse population
