Unit Director

About the role

The successful candidate will lead the operational aspects of the Boys & Girls Club, ensuring that all programs and services are aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals. They will also be responsible for managing the Club's facilities, human resources, and external partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates opportunities to improve Club operations and designs strategies to implement improvements.
• Ensures programs are designed to prepare youth for success and achieve desired outcomes.
• Maintains a safe and welcoming environment, anticipating leaders' needs and providing resources to support the Club's mission.
• Analyzes membership levels and develops strategies to increase participation.
• Communicates and enforces operational policies and procedures, including those related to human resources.
• Handles crisis situations and resolves conflicts, disputes, and concerns involving Club members, volunteers, and parents.
• Develops and implements performance objectives for direct reports and ensures their alignment with Club goals.
• Oversees the planning and execution of Club programs, ensuring they meet objectives, member needs, and interests.
• Manages the execution of Grant-funded programs on time and within budget.
• Collaborates with the Vice President to develop and monitor the Club's budget, control expenditures, and ensure compliance with grants.
• Maintains the Club's facilities, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-maintained.
• Monitors and reports on the Club's CACFP and SFSP meal programs.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization at a professional level.
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited higher education institution.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct Club operations.
• Ability to recruit, supervise, train, and retain key employees.
• Ability to manage and maintain a facility and develop community support of club operations and programs.
• Knowledge of the mission, objectives, and programs of non-profit organizations and youth development services, preferably Boys & Girls Clubs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate leaders.
• Strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
• A working knowledge of computers and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.

Pay

Salary range: $45,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time position with flexible hours to accommodate Club operations and programs.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain began in 1969 as a Boys’ Club at the Pitt County Fairgrounds and has since grown to serve over 1,300 at-risk and in-need young people across multiple counties in North Carolina.
