Union Lead Engineer

About the Role

As a CBRE Union Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring building system operations and performance. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems for the facility and building, ensuring systems meet applicable standards.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently.
• Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to extend the rated life of building machinery and systems.
• Perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
• Review inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and meets client-prescribed environmental conditions.
• Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
• Demonstrate broad knowledge of your job discipline and some knowledge of related disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with the company's RISE values, and influence others to reach agreements.

• Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Universal CFC certification is preferred. Additional certifications/licenses may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
• Meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to understand existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Analytical skills to evaluate possible solutions using technical experience and apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Advanced math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60 hourly, as determined by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
