About the role

Under general supervision, this entry-level professional position involves interviewing members of the public applying for unemployment benefits to determine claimant eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve relevant information from employers and claimants to complete the unemployment claim process, review claims for accuracy and completeness.
• Learn to explain and interpret unemployment insurance programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations to applicants and employers through training, relevant materials, and email updates.
• Identify the appropriate type of claim and reason for separation from employment based on gathered information.
• Detect changes in claimant circumstances and make initial determinations of eligibility for benefits.
• Learn to enter relevant information into the unemployment insurance database.
• Provide guidance or training for continuous improvement regarding the unemployment claims process.
• Perform all other duties as required.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
